The false-colour mosaic was created from multispectral drone imagery of a forest in the southern Black Forest. It shows how remote sensing can open new perspectives on familiar landscapes.
The Hidden Forest received a distinction in the 2019 SNSF Scientific Image Competition, in the category “The research object”. The research magazine Horizons featured the image and how it was made in the article “Schillernder Wald”.
